The 5-tonne explosive loot, suspected to be the work of Maoists, had been concealed underground and in rock crevices deep within the forest. During a combing operation in Tirilposha under the Jaraikela police limits in Jharkhand, security forces managed to seize 4,300 kilograms of the stolen explosives.

The footage captures the exact moment when these hidden caches were discovered, emphasizing the grave risks the personnel involved face. The operation saw coordinated efforts by elite units including the 209 CoBRA Battalion, CRPF, DVF, Jharkhand Jaguar, and SOG.

The gravity of the case has prompted the central government to hand over the investigation to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), one of India's premier counter-terrorism bodies. Meanwhile, the forest search operation continues amid heightened alert across the region.

Authorities believe the recovered explosives were intended for major attacks, underlining the importance of the swift and courageous response by the joint forces.

The operation stands as a significant breakthrough in curbing Maoist activities in the sensitive border area, though officials warn that more materials may still be hidden. Search and surveillance have been intensified in the region to prevent further incidents.
