Amid the brewing resentment over Odisha 5T Secretary V K Pandian’s visit to various parts of the State, a serious allegation has come to fore that some students were forced to attend a meeting of Pandian even though they had to appear for their examinations.

Recently, tension gripped a meeting venue in Dhanakauda village in Sambalpur following an interaction programme of the 5T secretary with college students.

After the programme concluded and Pandian left the venue, some students reportedly started throwing chairs while others indulged in an ugly altercation. Some of them even exchanged blows among themselves.

A purported video of the incident has now gone viral on various social media platforms. However, the reason behind the disturbances is yet to be ascertained.

As per reports, students of several colleges in the district were brought to the venue for the interaction meeting.

However, some students of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (NSCB) College alleged that even though their internal examination was going on, they were asked to attend the meeting.

“Our internal examination for one of the papers was conducted on July 14. Examination for another paper was to be conducted yesterday (July 15). Students had already taken their seats for the examination. However, to our utter surprise, the college authorities asked to attend the 5T Secretary’s meeting instead of appearing for the examination,” alleged Subham Prasad Mishra, a student of NSCB college.

No comments from the college authorities could be obtained over the allegations.
