The darshan of deities will be restricted till all the valuables, mostly empty cupboards and chests are shifted.

The shifting process is important as it will subsequently pave the way for the ASI to take up necessary inspection of the Ratna Bhandar using the latest technology as apprehensions were earlier expressed over the presence of some secret chambers.

Once the inspection part is over, steps will then be taken for Ratna Bhandar repair works which has been a long-standing demand.

Earlier, all the valuables including gold ornaments of Lord Jagannath were shifted from the Ratna Bhandar in two phases on July 14 and July 18, 2024. All the valuables have now been kept in a temporary strongroom within the Srimandir complex.
