ED Director Rahul Navin to visit Odisha; will the agency swing into action mode?

Rahul Navin, the Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will be arriving in Odisha on a three-day visit starting tomorrow. During his Odisha visit, the ED Director is scheduled to visit Puri and attend several programmes in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Keeping the changing political scenario after the change of government and past corruption in mind, the top ED official’s visit to Odisha assumes significance.

As the progress in the investigation of old cases and crackdown by ED has slowed down in the past several days in Odisha, it is expected that the agency might get back into action after getting necessary directions from the top official.

Sources said the ED has initiated two new cases which might spell trouble for some leaders and officers in the state. Though details regarding such cases have not yet been divulged, sources said there could be some action in coming days.

The ED Director is also scheduled to attend a meeting with senior officials of ED in Bhubaneswar. He is likely to review the progress of pending files.

Meanwhile, all the officers at ED in Bhubaneswar were seen coming to the office today despite being a holiday.
