Driver repairing flat tyre crushed to death in Bhadrak, another critical 

In a tragic mishap, a driver of an iron ore-laden truck died after he was hit by a hyva while repairing his vehicle's flat tyre alongside the main road in Basudevpur area of Bhadrak district late on Tuesday night. 

The mishap occurred near Chudamani temple when the truck suffered a flat tyre. The driver stopped the vehicle alongside the road to change the tyre. Seeing him, driver of another truck also stopped there to offer help.

When the drivers were busy changing the flat tyre, an over-speeding hyva, laden with stone chips, hit the trucks. As a result, the driver who was changing the tyre got crushed under the wheels of the hyva. The driver who had stopped to help him also suffered injuries in the mishap.

The injured was rushed to Basudevpur community health centre for treatment. 

On being informed, personnel from Chudamani Marine Police station reached the spot and launched a probe. The identity of the deceased and the injured truck driver is yet to be ascertained.
