You are young and energetic; use your energy properly, advised President Droupadi Murmu to the students at the 15th convocation ceremony of the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla on Tuesday.

“We should not be afraid of facing any obstacles in our lives. We should face them bravely. We should go through them and keep moving ahead,” she said while addressing the students.

On this occasion, she gave away certificates to 27 gold medallist students.

Among others, Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Odisha Skill Development and Technical Education Minister, Pritiranjan Ghadei also attended the event.

“She thanked me when I told her that she is my inspiration. As an Odia woman, she has been an inspiration for all. She started her journey from the grassroots and is now the first citizen of India. Receiving the degree from her, I feel proud,” said a gold medallist student.

While addressing the gathering, Union Minister Pradhan laid emphasis on multi-disciplinary university and said humanity, management, music, dance, and weaving skills should be taught in the university as per the 2020 education policy.

After the convocation ceremony, President Droupadi Murmu proceeded to Maa Samaleswari temple and had a darshan of the deity. On November 22, she will attend the National Education Campaign – New Education for New India, organised by Brahma Kumaris, Sambalpur.
