Doctor meets watery grave while bathing in gorge in Odisha’s Ganjam

According to a source, Padhi along with his three friends went to Huluhula gorge for a picnic. After having food, they went to the gorge to take a bath. While bathing, Padhi’s feet reportedly slipped and he drowned.

Doctor meets watery grave while bathing in gorge in Odisha’s Ganjam

A doctor reportedly drowned while bathing in Huluhula gorge of Rushikulya river in Odisha's Ganjam district on Sunday.

The deceased doctor has been identified as Rakesh Padhi, a resident of Goshaninuagaon area in Berhampur and was posted at Nuagaon health centre in Kandhamal district.  

According to a source, Padhi along with his three friends went to Huluhula gorge for a picnic. After having food, they went to the gorge to take a bath. While bathing, Padhi’s feet reportedly slipped and he drowned.

On being informed, police and fire services personnel reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. Later, they fished out the body and sent it to Sorada Community Health Centre (CHC).
