Body Taken On A Rickshaw Trolley
The family of deceased Krushna Sahu was allegedly forced to carry his body on a trolley rickshaw, as they did not find any hearse in the hospital.
The incident was reported from Mohana Community Health Centre (CHC) in Gajapati district.
As per reports, Sahu was rushed to the CHC after his health deteriorated. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the hospital. However, due to the lack of a hearse, the family of Sahu was allegedly forced to carry the body on a trolley rickshaw.
“There is a lot of mismanagement in this medical. The hospital did not provide us a hearse to take the body to the crematorium. We were carrying it on our shoulders when a friend of mine offered his trolley rickshaw on which we carried the body,” said a local, Sukanta Majhi.
“If being the locals of this area, we had to face such an ordeal to transport the dead body, then the situation of the people from outside Mohana can very well be guessed,” Majhi added.
However, when asked about the allegations, the on-duty doctor in Mohana CHC, Dr Trishula Senapati said, “We do not have any provision to provide hearse service to the deceased at this hospital. But there is a vehicle at Chandragiri Hospital which can be used for such things.”
“If they had asked us, then we would have called that vehicle from Chandragiri. But they took the dead on their own without informing us,” the doctor claimed.
