The drive focused on checking the quality of food, water, and spices being used in the preparation and sale of food items.
During the inspection, two hotels were found using substandard ingredients, contaminated water, and adulterated spices. They were slapped with fines of Rs 10,000 each.
Additionally, a sweet shop was fined several thousand rupees for similar violations.
Authorities have also issued strict advisories to shop owners to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in their establishments to prevent any further public health risk. The administration has warned of stricter action in future checks if norms are not followed.
