Demanding justice, Deepika stages sit-in again in front of boyfriend's house in Odisha’s Berhampur 

Deepika, who had hogged headlines last year by staging a ‘dharna’ in front of her boyfriend’s house at Desi Behera Sahi in Bada Bazar area in Berhampur, has once again resumed her protest at the same place. 

She claimed that as justice has not been delivered to her even after a year of her staging a dharna in front of the house of her boyfriend K.Dinesh, she said she has no other option left but to stage dharna again. However, she alleged that her boyfriend's mother has been torturing her. 

“Over a year has passed but I am yet to get any justice. I had hopes from the High Court. But my trial has not started as yet. With no alternative left, I staged a sit-in once again. But they also started torturing me. My mother-in-law threw chilly water on me. I am fighting for the identity of my child. Though the DNA test report has come out to be positive I am yet to get a certified copy of the DNA report,” said Deepika. 

When contacted, Deepika’s advocate Deepak Pattanayak said, “I came to know that Deepika is once again staging a dharna as justice has not been delivered to her at the right time. There is a provision in the law that such matters should be disposed of within 120 days. Let’s see how things pan out.”

In August last year, Deepika had staged a sit-in in front of her lover’s house with her baby boy reportedly after coming to know that his marriage has been fixed with another woman. She staged a dharna for the whole night demanding wife’s status from her lover’s family members. She continued her dharana for 70 days.
