Deliver LPG cylinder within 48 hours of booking to consumers else face action: Odisha Minister to dealers

You will not have to wait for days together to get an LPG cylinder after booking as the refill will be delivered within 48 hours in Odisha. Though there is a rule in this regard, the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Tuesday directed the dealers and distribution companies for strict compliance or face action.

Such directions were issued after a crucial meeting with petrol, diesel and LPG dealers held in Bhubaneswar today.

“We had a meeting with the officials of the companies, dealers and representatives today. There is a provision to deliver LPG cylinders within 48 hours of booking. The dealers have been directed to ensure this or else action would be taken against them,” said Patra.

Patra further said that the officials and dealers of petrol and diesel have been asked to ensure focus on three aspects- quantity, quality and behaviour.

Similarly, regular inspection of petrol pumps will be done to ensure that there is no adulteration and action would be taken in case of any violation, the minister added.
