Delhi Court summons OTV in defamation case by Anubhav Mohanty

The Metropolitan Magistrate in Delhi has summoned Odisha Television Limited (OTV) authorities over a defamation suit filed by Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Anubhav Mohanty. The court has set the next date for hearing on March 27.

In 2020, Mohanty had moved the court against OTV over certain news reports pertaining to him aired by the television channel on different occasions. The MP alleged that false news reports were aired to malign his image.

It is worthwhile to mention here that OTV had already informed the court that it had carried the news as per the MP’s statements and actions during that time all of which were recorded on camera as well.
