Mystery shrouded the death of a youth after decomposed body parts were found inside a house at Salepali village in Bolangir district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Rinku Meher.

As per reports, locals informed Bolangir Town Police about the body after a foul smell emanated from the house.

Police reached the spot immediately and found the decomposed body parts chopped and packed in seven carry bags inside the house. The body parts were recovered by breaking open the door of the house in the presence of the Magistrate.

As per sources, Rinku was living with his wife and two sons in a rented house for some days. A couple of days back, he thrashed his parents and injured them badly. They are now undergoing treatment in Burla medical.

According to Bolangir Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Tophan Bag, it is a planned murder. However, the motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.

“After getting information from local people, we broke the door open in the presence of the Magistrate and found the chopped body parts. A DFSL team will reach the spot soon and we will launch an inquiry into the incident. The murderer might have packed the body parts in polythene bags in a bid to dispose it off. It is suspected that he couldn’t do it due to some reason,” said SDPO Bag.

Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased said that it is a clear case of murder and stern action should be taken against the culprit.

“It seems Rinku has been chopped with a sharp weapon in a planned manner. The culprit should be caught and strong action should be taken against him,” said a relative.
