A purported video from inside the Coromandel Express just minutes before the deadly train crash at Bahanaga in Balasore has gone viral.

The video which was reportedly captured by one of the passengers of Coromandel Express shows a sanitation personnel mopping the floor of an AC coach while others passengers are either sleeping on their berths or busy gossiping with their co-passengers.

A sudden jerk seems to have thrown the person shooting the video off balance with the phone slipping out of the hands. After the fall, everything goes dark with shrieks and screams everywhere.

People in the coach can be heard screaming for their lives before the video ends abruptly.

While the veracity of the video is yet to be established, the screams of the passengers is enough to make the hair on the back of the neck stand up.

A total of 288 passengers lost their lives when the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express derailed and hit a stationary goods train and Yeshvantpur-Howrah Superfast Express simultaneously on June 2nd evening.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the Coromandel Express entered the loop line and crashed into a goods train parked there instead of the main line just after Bahanagar Bazar station.

The CBI has taken over the investigation into the train accident from the GRP and is currently continuing the probe.
