Overhead water tanks have been kept full helping water to resist the wind pressure. The outlets of the roof structures have been properly checked and cleaned to clear all the obstructions.
Moreover, windows and doors have been properly checked to avoid getting blown away. All the makeshift tents have been removed from Anand Bazaar. Sandbags have been placed atop all asbestos to save them from getting blown away due to the heavy wind, sources said.
Moreover, evacuation plans have been made for devotees to avoid any untoward incident. Special measures have also been made for women and habisyalis.
The administration has also taken necessary steps to avoid CCTV cameras getting damaged in the cyclone. Pump and DG sets have been kept ready with other equipment in case of a power outage.
Not just Puri Srimandir, the Konark Sun Temple as well as the beaches in Puri and Konark have also been made out of bounds for visitors till October 25.
