Cuttack’s ‘Dahibara and Aloodam’ all set to win hearts in Dubai  

In a piece of good news for Odisha’s foodies, Cuttack’s famous ‘Dahibara and Aloodam’ is going to participate in the International Food Festival to be held in Dubai in August. 

For this, Cuttack’s famous Babula Dahibara has been chosen for the festival. Babula Dahibara, a stall that sells only Dahibara and Aloodam, has participated in several food festivals and won the hearts of gourmets. The stall gets its name after its owner -Babula, who is well-known by his first name only. 

“I participated in the National Street Food Festival held in Delhi in 2019. There I was awarded. I also participated in the 2023 edition of the same festival. Apart from that, I also participated in the Odisha Parva held in New Delhi. My first aim is to popularize ‘Dahibara and Aloodam’ outside the State and country,” said Babula while serving some of his loyal customers. 

“People outside the State should relish this food item. I will try to win the hearts of the Dubai people by serving ‘Dahibara and Aloodam’. I am going to Dubai through a Bhubaneswar-based organization called ‘Dahibara Express’. In August, I will leave for Dubai,” he added. 

“I have been eating Dahibara and Aloodam at different stalls. But the taste of the food item served at Babula Dahibara stall is excellent,” said a female customer. 

“I am happy that Cuttack's famous Dahibara and Aloodam is going to Dubai. People there will have an opportunity to taste this food item. The food item should also be taken to other countries as well. I want our food items in America, London, Japan, Germany and China. We are eating Chinese food items. So our food item should be taken to foreign countries,” said a Cuttack resident.
