Union Railways Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw along with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan flagged off the much-awaited Bhadrak-Nayagarh Town MEMU train from Cuttack Railway Station on Thursday.

According to sources, the Bhadrak-Nayagarh Town MEMU (08555/08556) will leave from Bhadrak at 0545 AM and reach Nayagarh Town at 1155 AM. Similarly, the train will leave Nayagarh Town at 1705 PM and reach Bhadrak at 2245 PM.

During the flagging-off ceremony, Union Minister Vaishnaw said the Cuttack Railway Station will be made world-class, and design ideas for the same have been sought from the public. A whopping Rs 303 crore will be spent on the modernisation work.

Other than Cuttack Railway Station, 56 other railway stations in the State will be modernised, the Union Minister said. 

“As promised during our Bhubaneswar railway station visit, the Bhadrak-Nayagarh Town MEMU has been flagged off today. The train will run via Cuttack,” Vaishnaw said.

“Bhadrak residents have been demanding a special train running via Bhubaneswar and Cuttack for long. I would like to thank the Union Railway minister for carrying out several developmental works in the State. And, the day is not far when Vande Bharat Express will run in Odisha,” Dharmendra Pradhan said.
