Private Hospital In Cuttack

In a shocking incident, a private hospital at Cantonment Road in Cuttack sent a backdated test report to a patient admitted to the hospital.

As per reports, Bipin Lenka from Jagatsinghpur district was admitted to the hospital for gallbladder surgery. He was operated on October 1, 2023.

Following his surgery, the doctors reportedly sent a sample for biopsy on the same day to investigate the disease further. However, when the test report came, Lenka was left baffled after looking at the sample collection date on the report.

As per the allegations, while the sample was collected on October 1, the sample collection date on the report was mentioned as September 30 leading to confusion and later suspicion against the hospital authorities.

Lenka alleged that the hospital has cheated him by not conducting any biopsy test at all and handing him over a pre-generated report.

“I was operated on October 1 and after that they collected my sample for biopsy. But on the report which came on October 3, it is mentioned that the sample was collected on September 30. I think the hospital has taken my money but never conducted a test,” alleged Lenka.

However, the hospital authorities brushed aside cheating allegations and termed it as a printing error.

Speaking to OTV, the Manager of the hospital, Baidyanath Dehury said, “The patient cannot show us a receipt of the money paid for the test so that we can actually ascertain the date of the sample collection. However, it seems to be a printing error. If there is an error by any hospital employee, we will take action against him/her.”

“There has never been such an error in our hospital. We will issue another report basing on which further course of treatment will be carried out,” said the hospital authorities.
