Each of the movies currently being played at the world-renowned fair showcased the significance of Odia culture and is a symbol of the state and its people’s identities. Expectedly, with such historical and cultural significance, the exhibits have captivated audiences, visiting this section of the Bali Yatra.

Located inside the ‘Cuttack in Cuttack’ gallery of the fair, posters of forgotten movies have been installed as exhibits to bring back lost memories, and untold stories.

Additionally, unique displays showcase these posters through different mediums, including bioscopes and canvas presentations. Each poster tells a story hidden within its art, bringing Odia cinema back to life in the hearts of viewers.

Several visitors reported experiencing nostalgia and pride as they looked through the journey of Odia cinema. Screenings from the first Odia film, Sita Bibaha, to the first colour film and numerous record-breaking hits have found a place here.

“In Cuttack this year, Odia cinema is being rediscovered with a blend of old and new styles, evoking emotional responses. Many people are recalling fond memories about films they watched in theatres decades ago, while others, who never had the chance to see them, now have a golden opportunity to witness this cinematic heritage,” said Kaveri Samal, a resident of Cuttack, shared her excitement.

Meanwhile, Rajashree Mahanti, another resident, reflected on the event's nostalgic charm. “The cameras here tell untold stories, capturing moments with precision. The exhibition is not just about movie posters as it also showcases the filmmaking process of yesteryears, including lighting, cameras, reflectors, dubbing machines, and editing equipment. This comprehensive display offers a glimpse into how films were made, bringing the past to life for visitors,” she said.
