As per the previous announcement, the curfew restriction was lifted from the entire Sambalpur city. This came after the prohibitory orders were revoked from areas under Town and Dhanupalli police jurisdictions.

Curfew was lifted earlier from Khetrajpur, Ainthapalli, Bareipalli, and Sadar police station areas in two phases.

The decision to lift the curfew was taken after considerable improvement in the overall law and order situation that went for a toss following a clash during Hanuman Jayanti celebrations. Prior to that stone pelting incident was also reported on April 12, 2023.

It is pertinent to mention here that internet services were suspended on April 13. Similarly, a curfew was imposed the next day in the wake of the clash between two groups during the Hanuman Jayanti celebrations.
