Crorepati JE under Vigilance scanner; 50 bank accounts, triple-storied buildings & plots detected

A team of officials from the Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids on the office, residence and other properties of a Junior Engineer in Pallahara in Angul district.

The raids were carried out on the properties linked to Prasanna Kumar Pani who works as a JE (Technical Consultant) at Pallahara BEO office on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets.

At least 50 different bank accounts have been seized during the raid along with a huge cache of jewellery and land and apartment documents. The JE allegedly owned several triple-storied buildings in Sundarpada in Bhubaneswar and has several plots in his name.

If reports are to be believed, his movable and immovable are worth more than crores of rupees. However, the Vigilance team refused to divulge more as the raids were underway. 

Simultaneous house searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance led by six DSPs, six Inspectors and other staff at the following  9 places in Khurdha (Bhubaneswar), Angul and Puri districts.

1) Triple-storied Building at plot no - 367, Trilochan Vihar, Ebaranga, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar. 
2) Triple-storied building at plot no-366, Trilochan Vihar, Ebaranga, Sundarpada Bhubaneswar. 
3) Triple-storied building near Friends Club, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar. 
4) Flat no B/4 - 02, High-Tech Plaza, Sundarpada, BBSR.
5) Rented house at Uday Vihar, Canal Road, Pallahara, Angul.
6) Office chamber of Pani, at BEO office, Pallahara, Angul.
7) Triple-storied building located at Amlapada, Nimapada, Puri.
8)  Relatives’ house at Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar. 
9) House of business partner at Gouri Dham, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar. 

The searches were in progress till the filing of the last report.
