BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra
Senior BJP leader, Bijoy Mohapatra on Saturday expressed his dissatisfaction over the outcome of the Crime Branch investigation into the high-profile murder case of ex-Health Minister Naba Das.
The investigation in such a high-profile murder seems to have lost its direction, he alleged.
"The Crime Branch hasn’t delivered what was expected. I am the first one who demanded that the motive of the murder should be investigated. It is still a question mark whether they have investigated from that angle or not. The Crime Branch first claimed that Gopal Das has a mental illness. So there are many lapses in the investigation that were committed in phases," Mohapatra said.
Regarding the CM’s statement on FBI assistance in the investigation into the Naba Das murder case, he said it is people and the media who will decide who is telling the truth.
On the other hand, while answering the queries of journalists, Minister of State (Home) Tusharkanti Behera said, “The chargesheet prepared by the Crime Branch still requires some more formalities. Since it is being carried out under the supervision of a retired judge, once it is over, you will be informed.”
However, he parried the questions on the topic of seeking FBI assistance in the probe.
