A contractor has filed a complaint against Banpur Notified Area Council (NAC) Chairman Mitu Nayak at Banpur police station in Khordha district accusing Nayak of demanding PC (Percentage Commission) from him to clear a pending bill.

The complainant identified as Laxmidhar Sethi has further alleged that Nayak also misbehaved with him.

As per Sethi’s complaint, he was given the contract for a project of Banpur NAC. However, after the completion of the project, Nayak demanded a PC of Rs 42,000 to issue a bill amounting to Rs 3,68,000.

According to Sethi, when he refused to give the PC, Nayak misbehaved with him.

“After getting a tender I had got the contract of a work under Banpur NAC. The budget for the work was Rs 3,68,000. However, Nayak demanded PC of Rs 42,000 to issue the bill. Though JE has cleared the bill, Nayak refused to issue it without PC payment. Nayak along with his children are misbehaving with me over the telephone,” said Sethi.

However, Nayak refuted the allegations against him.

“All the allegations against me are baseless. I don’t have a PC system in my office. Sethi has some enmity against one of my supporters. To take revenge against him, he has brought the allegations against me,” said Nayak.

Meanwhile, Banpur police station IIC Jay Prakash Parida said that he has called both parties to the police station to discuss the matter.

“After hearing both of them further course of action will be taken,” said Parida.
