Constable recruitment: Aspirant dies during physical test in Ganjam

In a shocking incident, a youth died after falling sick while appearing for a physical test for recruitment of constable in Ganjam district. The deceased has been identified as Diptiranjan Das of Shyamsundarpur village under Khallikote block.  As per reports, Das reportedly fell sick after running for 1600 metres during the physical test.

Ganjam SP Jagmohan Meena said, “The aspirant was participating in the running practice when he fell unconscious. Initially, he was rushed to a hospital at Chhatrapur and later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital where he died during treatment.”

Meena further added that it is suspected that the aspirant died due to cardiac arrest and a case has been registered at MKCG outpost in this regard. However, the exact reason can be ascertained only after post-mortem.
