Veteran Congress leader Tara Prasad Bahinipati saw red at the launching ceremony of the LAccMI bus service in Koraput on Thursday when some workers of the ruling Biju Janata Dal(BJD) shouted ‘Naveen Patnaik Zindabaad’ slogans. 

Immediately reacting to the sloganeering by some members of the audience, the Congress MLA, who was visibly upset, threatened them not to irritate him. “Don’t try to challenge me."If I want then I can make the scheme a failure,” he was seen shouting from the dais shared by OdishaTransport Minister Tukuni Sahu, Transport Secretary Usha Padhi, all MLAs of the district and the Collector.

As per reports, such high drama unfolded at Koraput Government College ground during the launch of the LAccMI bus service. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the service under which 38 LAccMI buses will operate from the block headquarters to the district headquarters in the first phase. 

Later, speaking to reporters, the Congress veteran said that the BJD government has launched LAccMI bus service ahead of the 2024 elections. “We don’t oppose it, but such buses should provide proper services,” he observed.
