Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Odisha in the month of October, informed party MLA Adhiraj Mohan Panigrahi on Friday. Rahul, who is currently in the Union Territory of Ladakh, is likely to be accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra during his visit in the last week of October, Panigrahi added.

As per sources, Rahul is likely to address rallies and hold meetings in four zones in Odisha with an eye on the upcoming 2024 elections. Congress is contemplating to strengthen its position in the state ahead of the elections.

The probable visit of Rahul to the state was discussed by five senior Congress MLAs who had been to New Delhi to meet him and personally requested him to come to Odisha.

Speaking to the media, MLA Adhiraj Panigrahi said, “Rahul Gandhi will definitely come to Odisha in October last week. Priyanka Gandhi will also accompany him. We have requested him to address rallies in four zones and he has promised us to visit the state to strengthen our party.”

Earlier, the former Congress president was expected to visit Odisha during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. However, the Yatra did not reach Odisha. Rahul last visited Odisha in 2019.
