Highlighting the poll-preparedness, Congress leader and Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati on Tuesday said the party has already finalised 60 candidates for the next Assembly elections in Odisha.

Only winning candidates will be provided with Congress tickets and all the candidates are mentally ready to fight polls, Bahinipati said.

Speaking to reporters Bahinipati said, “Infighting in BJD and BJP is out in the open. But we are united. Even I had differences with Koraput MP, we sacrificed our ego and shook hands. We have decided to leave our differences and form government in Odisha. We will all travel the State in the ‘Congress Bus’ and win this election.”

Asked about Odia University at Satyabadi, Puri, Bahinipati said, “BJD’s new-found love for Odia language is a drama. Everybody knows what BJD had done for Odia language in Odisha. Congress has vowed to safeguard Odia language and culture. We will continue to fight for the same.”

Newly appointed Odisha in-charge of the Congress, Ajoy Kumar had recently targeted both BJD and BJP, accusing them of being one entity and operating together.

Making a veiled attack on the 5T chairperson VK pandian, the Congress leader called upon party workers and people to ‘remove outsiders and save Odisha.’

According to sources, a ‘Congress Bus’ will move in Odisha from January 21. The party leaders and MLAs are slated to visit all Assembly Constituencies of Odisha by the bus with an aim to build a close relationship with the voters.
