The Orissa High Court on Saturday directed the Commissioner of Police to find out the reason behind complaints against actress Varsha Priyadarshini at several police stations in Bhubaneswar.

Also, the court has instructed the DCP to take action against people filing false complaints against the actor alleging her of making casteist remarks.

Justice Sanjiv Kumar Panigrahi ordered the Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) to carry out an investigation in this regard and ascertain the source of such complaints.

The court’s decision came after public prosecutor informed that the complaint filed against Varsha at Chandrasekharpur Police Station is baseless and fake.

Besides, the court was informed that the lady who had filed compliant against the estranged wife of Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty at Chandrasekharpur Police Station is no more interested to drag the case and the complainant has submitted a document in this regard.

Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar DCP has been asked to find out the authenticity of a similar case filed against the actress at Sahid Nagar Police Station. Also, the DCP has also been asked to ascertain motive behind such activities.

The next hearing of the case will be held on January 31.
