After a brief gap, the Commissionerate Police has once again resumed its mega ‘safe city drive’ in the capital city of Bhubaneswar. Around 50 police personnel will carry out intensive patrolling on several prominent streets, bylanes and other places on 25 motorcycles.

The main objective is to keep strict surveillance on illegal narcotics trade, criminal activities, den of anti-social elements and speed biking which has become a menace on the streets of Bhubaneswar.

The safe city drive was initially launched by the Commissionerate Police during the Hockey World Cup.

As per reports, the drive will be undertaken across the city during evening hours. It is expected that it will play a key role in curbing several illegal activities and other petty crimes as well.
