Commissionerate Police beefs up security to curb crime in Bhubaneswar

The Twin City Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar has intensified security, conducting round-the-clock patrols and checks at key entry-exit points. Measures ensure the safety of India-England cricket teams and to curb crime for the city residents.

The Twin City Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar has strengthened security measures to curb crime in the Capital City. Enhanced checks are being conducted round-the-clock, particularly at night, at all major entry and exit points to ensure the safety of India-England cricket teams and the residents as well, sources said on Sunday.

According to sources, police have significantly increased security measures. Thorough checks are being conducted and patrolling teams have been active throughout the night, ensuring heightened surveillance of all movements within the city.

“Police patrolling has been increased throughout the city, focusing on monitoring vehicle movement and ensuring the protection of the visiting players as well as maintaining overall security. Commissionerate Police are ready and committed to providing a safe environment during the teams’ stay,” Additional DCP-Bhubaneswar, Sanjay Kumar Mohapatra said.

“Apart from beefing up security, we have started convoy patrolling in the city. Blocking and NAKA checking are underway in areas under different police stations. These measures will help build confidence among residents and prevent ATM loots,” the senior cop stated.

“Additional DCPs, Zonal ACPs, and IICs are conducting the surveillance activities, led by the Commissioner of Police (CP) and Deputy CP (DCP),” the senior cop added.
