Enhanced checks are being conducted round-the-clock, particularly at night, at all major entry and exit points to ensure the safety of India-England cricket teams and the residents as well, sources said on Sunday.
According to sources, police have significantly increased security measures. Thorough checks are being conducted and patrolling teams have been active throughout the night, ensuring heightened surveillance of all movements within the city.
“Police patrolling has been increased throughout the city, focusing on monitoring vehicle movement and ensuring the protection of the visiting players as well as maintaining overall security. Commissionerate Police are ready and committed to providing a safe environment during the teams’ stay,” Additional DCP-Bhubaneswar, Sanjay Kumar Mohapatra said.
“Apart from beefing up security, we have started convoy patrolling in the city. Blocking and NAKA checking are underway in areas under different police stations. These measures will help build confidence among residents and prevent ATM loots,” the senior cop stated.
