Commissionerate Police arrests 15 criminals in 48 hours in Bhubaneswar
In the last 48 hours, the Commissionerate Police arrested 15 criminals including property offenders, drug peddlers, anti-socials and wanted criminals, informed Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra on Saturday.
While addressing a presser, he also informed that the drive will be more organised in the coming days.
“In the last 48 hours, we have arrested 15 criminals who will be court-forwarded. Of them, there are property offenders, drug peddlers, anti-socials and wanted criminals. They have cases in police stations across the city. We have also seized 22 kilograms of ganja and forwarded three ganja peddlers to court. We have seized three gold chains, two rings and bangles have been seized. We have also seized a Tavera vehicle, over 20 mobile phones, Rs 20,000 in cash, vanity bag and documents,” said DCP Mishra.
He also informed that Keeping the important events and conferences to be held in Bhubaneswar in the coming days in view, the Commissionerate Police has taken a slew of measures to ensure a crime-free Bhubaneswar.
“You know that we have launched a special drive against property offenders, anti-socials and criminals. The drive has continuously been in force. In the coming days, Bhubaneswar will be witnessing some special events and conferences.
Keeping this in view, we, as per the direction of the Police Commissioner are taking some anti-crime measures in an organised way,” he said.
He also informed that the above-mentioned drive and the drive against NBW warrantees will continue in the days to come as well.
“The drive will continue. We have been identifying suspicious bad characters, habitual offenders, drug paddlers, and anti-social and rowdy elements. Some days ago, we launched a special drive against NBW warrantees. In the last 48 hours, we arrested 12 warrantees. The drive against the NBW warrantees will also continue in the coming days,” he said.
