College girl student falls to death from rented house in Odisha's Keonjhar

In a heart-wrenching incident, a college girl died after falling from the roof of her rented house in the Sriram Nagar area of Barbil in Keonjhar district. The deceased has been identified as Ruchi Jha, daughter of Sabal Jha, an officer at a private mines company.

According to sources, Sabal was an officer at a private mines company and lived in a rented apartment at Sriram Nagar in Barbil along with his family. His elder daughter Ruchi also lived with the family and had gone to the house roof for some reason.

The local police are yet to ascertain the circumstances under which Ruchi fell down from the roof. She was immediately rushed to Barbil community health center. However, doctors declared her brought dead upon arrival.

“I was asleep when I heard a sound. I ran out and found that she had fallen from the roof. We immediately rushed her to the local hospital. However, she succumbed to her injuries. I’m not sure how she fell from the roof,” said the house owner Sanjiv Kumar Mishra.

Police registered a case and launched a probe into the matter.
