Cold wave and fog in Odisha
The prevailing cold wave in Odisha is very likely to subside and a rise in the daytime as well as minimum temperatures is expected across most districts in the state within the next 48 hours as per a forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The prediction also stated that an induced cyclonic circulation over West Rajasthan in lower tropospheric levels and another Western Disturbance may bring warm and humid air into the state, thereby reducing the intensity of the cold.
Further, the Bhubaneswar Centre of the IMD stated there will be no significant change in the minimum temperature in Odisha for today. However, nighttime temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the subsequent three days.
Despite the anticipated easing of the cold wave, a yellow alert for dense fog, valid until tomorrow morning, was released for several places in Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, and Koraput districts.
