Close shave for Vande Bharat Express in Odisha’s Nuapada

A major mishap, involving Vande Bharat Express, was averted near Nuapada Road railway station late last night due to the presence of mind of the Loco pilot.

According to sources, the Express train was on its way back from Vishakhapatnam to Durg at around 10.00 PM, when a large rock was spotted on the left side of a railway track about 100 metres away from the railway level crossing gate.

However, it has not been ascertained who and why kept the rock on the railway track.

Loco pilot’s presence of mind saved the train from facing a major accident. Later the pilot informed the station master and normalcy was restored after the rock was removed.

On being informed, Nuapada police reached the spot and launched a probe.
