In a shocking incident, a class-IX student of Adarsha Vidyalaya was stabbed to death inside his house on Wednesday by an unidentified person. The incident was reported from Benapanjari village under Jatani police limits of Khordha district. However, the reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. 

The deceased was identified as Subham Swarup Paltasingh, son of a teacher Manoj Kumar Paltasingh.

According to reports, Manoj Paltasingh was taking tuition of some students this evening on the first floor of his house while Subham was alone studying on the ground floor. His mother and sister were also taking tuition in a separate house.   
At that time, they all heard a scream downstairs. They rushed to the ground floor only to find Subham groaning in a pool of blood. 

Subham was profusely bleeding after being stabbed in the stomach thrice while his throat was slit open. What his parents saw immediately was a person darting out of their house. His parents said the accused ran away in a jiffy and it was not possible for them to identify the accused.

They rushed the injured to the district headquarters hospital, but he succumbed on the way.
On being informed, police started an investigation into the matter, but are yet to ascertain the exact motive behind the murder.

The victim's sister said that her brother was studying alone for his exam tomorrow while she and her parents were busy taking tuition separately. 

She narrated the incident, saying, “My brother suddenly screamed for help. We rushed to him but found him drenched in blood. My mother saw a person running out of the house.”     

However, the family denied having enmity with anyone.

Meanwhile, ACP Pradeep Kumar Rout said, "Different teams have been formed to look into the murder of the student with the help of a scientific team."
