Chariot of the Lords being rolled out in Nuapada
A chariot with the Holy Trinity (the sibling deities) on board was untimely rolled out on Friday at Konabira village under Komna block in Nuapada district. However, this has triggered strong resentment among the devotees and followers of Jagannath culture across Odisha.
According to sources, an organising committee of the village arranged the Rath Yatra. A chariot with Lord Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra was pulled by the locals from Puruna Basti up to Nua Basti in the village.

Rath Yatra has been organised in Konabira village on Kartika Purnima-Day for nearly the last 25 years. The rolling out of chariot was temporarily stopped during the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak. The event is rather called ‘Bali Yatra’, the organising committee said.
“We have been rolling out the chariot of Bada Thakura (Lord Balabhadra) and His siblings every year on the auspicious Shukla Chaturdashi Day. It was successfully conducted this year too,” a committee member, Jagannath Majhi stated.
Worth mentioning, a large number of Jagannath culture followers from across the world strongly resented the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) for holding an untimely Rath Yatra of the Holy Trinity in Houston city of US on November 9.
