The Chandikhole-Bhadrak section of Kolkata-Chennai Golden Quadrilateral will be upgraded to a six lane highway, informed Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari on Friday.
“We are currently upgrading the Chandikhole-Bhadrak section of Kolkata-Chennai Golden Quadrilateral to a six lane highway with paved shoulders. This road spans the states of West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu and serves as the primary arterial road linking the coastal areas of Odisha,” tweeted Gadkari.

It accommodates interstate traffic carrying various agricultural, manufactured, and industrial products, as well as local mining traffic. The highway also provides connectivity to popular tourist destinations such as Maa Biraja Temple, Sveta Baraha, Bhadrakali Temple, Aradi Akhandalamani Temple, Chandabali river port, Dhamnagar and the Dhamra Port of Bhadrak District,” the minister further tweeted.
