Rohit Sharma breaks Sachin Tendulkars record at Cuttack Barabati Stadium
After a prolonged lean patch, Team India captain Rohit Sharma returned to form at the right time just before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 by hitting a blistering century in the second ODI against England at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
However, several fans and experts are doubtful whether the veteran batsman will be able to emulate his form in the Champions Trophy or not.
In response, Australia’s former captain Michael Clarke has made a bold prediction about Rohit ahead of the mega event. Clarke has predicted that Rohit will be the leading run-scorer of the tournament, which is set to begin in Karachi on February 19. However, India will play all their matches of the tournament in Dubai due to strained political relationship with the neighbouring country.

“Well, I am saying India is going to win the Champions Trophy. I am going to go with their captain, who’s back in form. I am going to say that Rohit Sharma will be the leading run scorer in the tournament,” said Clarke in a recent interaction.
“It’s good to see Rohit making runs again. I think India need him for sure,” he added.
Notably, Rohit was going through the horrible form of his life. He had two low scores until the ODI series against England. However, his century stood out as the highlight. This helped India seal a dominating 3-0 series win against England.
