Central ECI team to review polls preparedness in Odisha tomorrow

A team of the Election Commission of India (ECI) is likely to reach Odisha today. As per reports, the ECI officials are likely to hold a crucial meeting with the state government officials and review the election preparedness here.

Sources said that the ECI team will hold discussions with the officials of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and district Collectors at Kharavela Bhawan.

Various teams of the Election Commission of India (ECI) are visiting various parts of the country ahead of the crucial 2024 elections. One team is currently reviewing various aspects in West Bengal and the same team is likely to reach Odisha this evening. Sources said that the team will review the status of voters’ list preparedness and revision, sensitive booths and law and order situation as well.

A detailed discussion will also be held on the EVMs and VVPAT machines. The requisite EVMS and VVPAT machines for several districts in the state have already arrived and a first round of checking is likely to be done in October.
