Famous poet William Ralph Emerson had once written in his poem titled A Nation's Strength: “Brave men who work while others sleep, Who dare while others fly...They build a nation's pillars deep and lift them to the sky.”

You might have heard these lines in childhood. Emerson had accurately defined the keepers of our nation and our soldiers. They keep their life at palm for the sake of motherland. However it is a pity that not every youth wants to be a soldier and serve their country in this dog-eat-dog world.

Of late, four youths of Balasore have earned kudos for being selected for Indian army. A unique celebration was conducted in this Balasore village as four youths of the locality got selected for Indian Army.

While two of them got recruitment as Agniveer, another got selected for Assam Rifles and the fourth one was selected for Border Security Force.
Kalinga Defense Academy where these youths got trained organized a unique ceremony for these youths.

Youths of Kalinga Defense Academy welcomed them by playing drum and dancing.  It was a matter of pride for both the academy and village to see four youths of the locality joining army.

Youth selected to join Indian Army are Kanhu Charan Dehuri of Bhadrak, Ranjan Parida of Kupari, Srikant Siala of Simulia and Janmejay Nayak of Soro. They were being trained free of cost here.

Their coach Mayur Das said, “We set up Kalinga Defense Academy one and half year back with an aim to inspire youths to join Indian Army. We provide coaching to the aspiring soldiers to achieve their goal. As four members of this academy have qualified in all necessary tests and was selected for joining defense, our happiness knew no bounds. That’s why we planned to celebrate it and capture the moment forever in our heart.”

Academy is being run by 22 jawans who provide free training to 80 youths.

Abinash Pradhan, who is all set to join Indian Army, said, “I used to be a runner but did not have any idea about the academy. After joining here, teachers guided me how to get into Army. I owe my success to Kalinga Defense Academy and its tutors for shaping my career.”

Kanhu Charan Dehuri said, “It’s a happy moment for our organization. It provides free training to youths like me. It never demands a single penny to train youths. It works selflessly to create jawans who can dedicate their lives for the sake of Mother India. It’s a matter of pride that four trainees including me got selected to join army.”

Ranjan Parida said, “The academy is not an old organization. I joined the organization very lately. However, tutors guided us properly for which we are able to reach the pinnacle of success today.”
