CDPO ‘pushes’ woman clerk: Nabarangapur district administration starts probe

Nabarangapur district administration on Sunday started an inquiry into the viral video in which a Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) allegedly misbehaved with a senior woman clerk and pushed her from her seat at Dabugaon office.

As per the order by Nabarangapur Collector, a two-member team led by District Social Welfare (DSW) officer Kamal Kumari Patnaik reached the CDPO office in Dabugaon and questioned the CDPO and the senior clerk about the incident. Patnaik was accompanied by Protection Officer Sasmita Mohanty.

However, the CDPO Gitanjali Moharana denied the allegations against her.

“Upon my return from area visit, the clerk asked me about her salary issue in a raised voice. As a meeting was underway, I asked her to leave the room. I didn’t push her. The allegation against me is false and baseless,” said CDPO Moharana. 

Notably, Dabugaon CDPO Maharana had an altercation with the head clerk Santoshi Mishra over some issue. The scene turned ugly when the CDPO allegedly lost her cool and pushed the clerk from her seat. Though the staff present at the office tried to stop Maharana from misbehaving with Mishra, she paid no heed to them and went on hurling abuses at the head clerk.
 
Someone at the office shot the entire incident and uploaded the video on a social media platform following which the video went viral and Nabarangapur Collector ordered an inquiry into the incident.
