With mystery still surrounding the murder cases of former minister Naba Das, lady teacher Mamita Meher and Gobinda Sahoo, BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra once again demanded CBI investigation into the sensational cases in the Assembly on Tuesday.
Raising questions over the investigation process, Mishra said, “I have demanded a CBI probe into the death of Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati, murders of Mamita Meher, Gobinda Sahoo and minister Naba Das as the probe into the sensational cases has created doubts in the minds of the people of the State.”
“The people do not have trust on the investigation. So, I have urged the government to recommend CBI investigation to crack the mystery surrounding the cases,” Mishra added.
Asked about if he doesn’t trust the State’s investigation agency, the legislator said, “It is not about the agency that carried out the investigation, rather it is about the then government which influenced the police in the investigation process.”
“When people don’t have trust on the investigation process carried out by the Odisha Police, then we must hand over the cases to a higher investigating agency which is CBI. There is nothing wrong,” the MLA added.
