A private nursing home in Cuttack was sealed on Saturday following allegations of fraud in Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY). Two persons were arrested in this connection.

A team of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) officials and police conducted a raid on JM Care nursing home following the allegations. The nursing home authorities were asked to submit the required documents during the raid. However, they failed to produce the necessary documents following which the nursing home was sealed.

CMC officials have asked the nursing home authorities to submit all the documents within three days.

As per the allegations, JM Care nursing home admitted some patients and embezzled money from another hospital through fraudulent means by using Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana cards. Madhupatana Police have arrested two persons in this connection.

“A team of CMC officials including the Deputy Commissioner of Enforcement, health officials, and a police team conducted the raid. The officials of the nursing home failed to provide proper documents following which it was sealed. We have served a notice to them to submit necessary documents like trade license, land NOC, registration, building plan, holding tax, and agreement at the CMC office by Monday,” said CMC health official, Satyabrata Mohapatra.

“There were BSKY fraud allegations against the nursing home. Based on the allegations, we conducted the raid and asked its authorities to submit the necessary documents within three days. After checking the documents, the next course of action will be decided,” said CMC Deputy Commissioner, Ajay Mohanty.
