The jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF) have busted a Maoist dump and seized huge quantities of explosives in Malkangiri. The Maoist dump was hidden beneath rock cavities inside the caves in the Bejangiwada Reserve Forest, near Dayaltungi village under Kalimela police limits.

The Maoist dump was busted after a special operation was carried out by BSF troops from the Company Operating Base (COB) Bodigetta and the THQ 142 Bn BSF.

Official sources said that the Bejangiwada Reserve Forest area has long been a stronghold for Maoist cadres and their sympathizers.

The Maoist usually store IEDs, IED-making materials, arms, and other supplies in isolated locations to target security forces and Police personnel operating in the area.

Three tiffin bombs, gelatine sticks and other Maoist articles and equipment have been recovered from the dump.
