The 21st edition of the five-day-long Bring Your Own Film Festival kicked off at Chakratirtha Road sea beach in Puri on Wednesday. Organised in collaboration with OTT platform Tarang Plus, the film festival is themed on Sun, Sand, and Screen.
 
The film festival inaugurated by Iranian tourist Nazinin aims to provide a good platform for film producers, makers, and students to get together and watch quality films and exchange ideas.

In the current edition, as many as 60 movies from across the country and abroad will be screened while over 300 distinguished people associated with the film industries will attend the festival.

Short films and documentaries based on arts, cultures, traditions, languages, lifestyles, multiple issues, and events will be screened.

Significantly, the festival has no provision for nominations and jury for evaluations and awards. 
On the inaugural day, a 27-minute documentary on Puri Akhada culture made by young filmmaker of Puri, Ashutosh Patnaik was screened.  

Chief of the Bring Your Own Film Festival, Sushant Mishra, Business Head of OTV Network, Litisha Mangat Panda, Nazanin from Iran, and organizer Kapilash Bhuyan graced the inaugural event.

Speaking on the occasion, the Business Head of OTV Network, Litisha Mangat Panda said, “It not only encourages people from outside to showcase their films, but also it promotes youngsters, filmmakers, and content creators to bring their own culture, own stories of their communities to the forefront through this festival.  Being associated with Tarang Plus and BYOFF, we could not find a better opportunity to encourage everybody in and out of Odisha to bring their culture to the forefront and tell their own stories."
