At a time when the Odisha Crime Branch is yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder of Health Minister Naba Das, the students’ wing of the Odisha Congress on Monday levelled serious allegations against the ruling BJD MLA Sushant Singh.

There were some differences between Singh and the late minister Naba Das and hence, the Bhatli MLA should be brought under the purview of the investigation. The mobile phone of the senior BJD leader should also be seized for investigation, demanded Chhatra Congress leaders.

Activists of the Chhatra Congress today gheraoed the residence of Sushant Singh in Bhubaneswar. Palpable tension gripped the spot after the activists of the students’ wing members tried to enter the MLA’s quarters by breaking the security cordon.

A scuffle was also reported between the Chhatra Congress activists and the police present at the spot. The activists later hurled tomatoes at Sushant Singh’s residence.

“It is unfortunate the way a state minister was shot dead in broad day light and the Odisha government has so far failed to unravel the mystery. Was the government unaware that there were some differences between Sushant Singh and Naba Das as the former wanted to expand his base,” alleged Chhatra Congress president, Yashir Nawaz.

Later, the activists of the Chhatra Congress tried to gherao Odisha Assembly where they were stopped by the security personnel, leading to a scuffle again. Meanwhile, comment of BJD MLA Sushant Singh could not be obtained over the allegations levelled by the Chhatra Congress leader.
