Hours after the body of a young girl from Odisha which was recovered from a suitcase near Kurla Railway station in Mumbai, police swung into action and arrested the victim’s boyfriend.
The deceased who was identified as Pratima Kispatta, was a resident of Bandalikani under Lephripara police limits in Sundargarh district. While no exact reason for her death was known immediately, cops suspect a fallout between the two lovebirds to be the reason for her death.
The accused, also from the Lephripara area in Odisha has been identified as Manoj Barla, the boyfriend of the deceased. If reports are to be believed, both of them were living together in Mumbai and were working there.
A probe to ascertain the reason behind Pratima’s death has been launched. The accused has been taken into remand for three days, sources said.
It is suspected that Manoj killed Pratima and stuffed her body in a suitcase before dumping it near the Kurla railway station. A preliminary probe revealed Manoj wanted to bring the body inside the suitcase to Odisha. However, due to unknown circumstances, he dumped it at the Kurla railway station.
The matter came to the fore after the passers-by spotted the suitcase and alerted the cops.
