Bolangir Plus-2 girl student death case

In a major breakthrough, Bolangir police on Saturday arrested two persons, including the boyfriend of the Plus 2 girl student Seshadri Nag, whose body was recently recovered from her residence. Police have also seized the weapon used in the girl student’s murder.

The arrested accused have been identified as Seshadri’s boyfriend Milan Rana (21) and his associate. Another associate of Milan is said to be absconding.

Seshadri’s body was found lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit at her house in Nikhil Nagar slum area on Thursday. A doll beside the girl’s body was found on the day of the incident.

As per police sources, Seshadri and Milan were in a love relationship for the last four years. However, Seshadri didn’t want to continue with the relationship anymore.

There was an altercation after Seshadri told Milan to end their relationship. She also returned the doll, which Milan had gifted her. Subsequently, Milan lost his cool and silted her throat with a sharp-edged weapon, police said.

After the incident, Milan fled from the spot and hid the weapon used in the murder at a hill nearby.

After a preliminary investigation into the incident, Bloangir police took the help of Rayagad police and Government Railway Police (GRP) to arrest Milan from Vijayawada when he was planning to flee away to another state by train.

After arresting Milan and one of his associates, Bolangir police recreated the crime scene. Further investigation into the incident is underway.

“As per instructions from Bolangir SP, we carried out the investigation. We checked the deceased’s mobile phone which she used to chat with her boyfriend. After getting strong evidence from the chat, we arrested the accused from a train with the help of Rayagada police and GRP when he was trying to flee,” said Bolangir SDPO Tophan Bag.

“I request all the guardians to keep track of their children while they are using mobile phones,” said Bag.
