Body of minor boy found floating in Mahanadi river

In a shocking incident, a body of a Class 6 student was found floating in Mahanadi river on Tuesday. The body was spotted by locals who alerted the cops.

On being informed, both Chauliaganj and Mangalabag police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. It was not immediately known if the boy drowned or was killed and later dumped in the river in a pre-planned manner.

According to sources, the deceased was a student of a local English Medium school. As usual he had gone to school on Monday. However, he did not return home in the evening. Family members launched a frantic search for him, but in vain.

A missing persons' complaint was lodged in this connection at Mangalabag police station. However, his body was found under mysterious circumstances today floating in the river.
