In the latest development in the sensational honeytrap case, prime accused Archana Nag’s aide, Shradhanjali Behera did not appear for a court hearing on Tuesday.

As per reports, Shradhanjali cited health reasons for her absence in the court.

Subsequently, the court directed Shradhanjali to appear for hearing in the case on February 7.

Meanwhile, another aide of Archana Nag, Khageswar applied for bail on Tuesday. Khageswar’s counsel submitted the bail petition at the District Sessions court in Bhubaneswar.

The court had ordered Archana Nag, her husband Jagabandhu Chand and her two aides, Shradhanjali and Khageswar to appear. While Shradhanjali was due to appear in person, the other three were supposed to appear through video conferencing from jail in Bhubaneswar.

On January 17, the Orissa High Court had refused to grant Shradhanjali anticipatory bail.

Shradhanjali had moved the HC seeking anticipatory bail apprehending arrest. She has been named in the chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the money laundering case against Archana Nag.

On January 9, the ED submitted a 2241-page chargesheet in Bhubaneswar Sessions Court pertaining to the money laundering case involving Archana Nag and her husband Jagabandhu Chand.

In the chargesheet, it was mentioned that Archana blackmailed film producer Akshay Parija with the help of her associate Shradhanjali. The chargesheet also mentioned about Archana blackmailing a Nayagarh-based political leader and businessman.
